The Made in Vietnam Finest Management Technology Makes Waves at Japan’s ESD21 Forum

A Journey from TPS to the GKM Gene System and a Vision for a New Era of Business Collaboration between Vietnam and Japan 2.0

NAGOYA, JAPAN; On October 6, 2025, at the invitation of the Association for Sustainable Production and Human Resource Support (ESD21), Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Dang Minh, Founding Chairman of the GKM Finest Management Institute, delivered a special presentation at the ESD21 Forum. The topic was “From TPS to GKM: A Journey from Philosophy to Practice and a New Vision for Business Collaboration between Vietnam and Japan 2.0.”

The event gathered numerous business leaders, professors, leading researchers of the Toyota Production System (TPS), and experts with prior experience at Toyota Corporation. In the plenary session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dang Minh was one of two keynote speakers, alongside Mr. Koji Sakai, General Director of Honda Logicom Vietnam.

A Solution for Global “Management Fractures”

In his presentation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dang Minh provided a deep analysis of the strengths of TPS while also pointing out the major challenges in global management today. He emphasized that many techno-craft solutions are hitting a “thinking ceiling,” making it difficult to create sustainable breakthroughs. The primary obstacles, he argued, are “management fractures” and “invisible waste” in thinking.

To address these root-cause problems, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dang Minh introduced The Made in Vietnam Finest Management Technology (GKM MIV Technology). It is not merely a set of tools but a complete philosophical system built on the foundation of the GKM Gene System. He affirmed that when an enterprise successfully applies the GKM Gene System with “Tam The” (the core mindset) as its nucleus, tools like TPS can be implemented naturally and with outstanding effectiveness.

An Enthusiastic Reception and In-depth Discussions

The presentation sparked a vibrant and engaging discussion. Many leading Japanese experts asked sharp, insightful questions, showing their deep interest.

The former Director of the Design Division at Toyota Corporation asks how GKM manages to persuade top corporate leaders to attend its CEO programs, a feat considered very difficult in Japan.

A former TPS expert from Toyota Corporation engages in a deep discussion on the philosophy of the Five Values and the substance of “Tam The,” key elements for successful implementation in an enterprise.
